Dskate Hockey is proud to announce the launch of inaugural Dskate World Diabetes Day Hockey Classic, presented by Novo Nordisk, a hockey tournament exclusively for players living with Type 1 Diabetes.
After years of working to make this a reality, we are extremely excited to offer a platform for our #T1DHockey players to showcase their skills! Fulfilling a long-time dream to see an ALL-T1D hockey team hit the ice, we are proud to offer space for up to 16 ALL-T1D hockey teams. With room for 17 players per team (including 9 forwards, 6 defensemen and 2 goalies), Dskate aims to ice a competitively balanced group of teams that will allow T1D hockey players and their families to celebrate our growing community and a chance to show the world how incredible they are.
Taking place from Wednesday, November 13, 2019, through Friday, November 15, 2019 @ Canlan Ice York, located on-campus at York University (a short drive from downtown Toronto), Dskate is pleased to offer 4 entry categories for participation: U17 (2002, 2003, 2004), U14 (2005, 2006), U12 (2007, 2008) and U10 (2009, 2010). Each player/team will play a guaranteed minimum of 4 games.
We are also pleased to note that we will be hosting a Dskate U Education Program on World Diabetes Day; November 14, 2019.
Courtesy of our incredible partners from Novo Nordisk and Medtronic, Dskate is thrilled to announce that REGISTRATION IS FREE for all T1D hockey players who wish to participate in this tournament.
