Ambassador Program

The Dskate Ambassadors Program is in search of Ambassadors and Volunteers to help organize and run the Dskate World Diabetes Day Hockey Classic.

Taking place between November 13-15, 2019, at the Canlan Ice Sports York Facility, located on-campus at York University in North York, Ontario, Dskate is in search as many people as possible to help us put on an extraordinary event for the T1D Hockey Community.

Dskate World Diabetes Day Hockey Classic Team Ambassador

Each team at the Dskate World Diabetes Day Hockey Classic will be assigned a Dskate Team Ambassador. This role is open to any and all T1Ds and NON-T1Ds who would like to volunteer to support the players during the tournament and will include serving as a liaison between the teams and tournament staff. All Ambassadors will be provided meals, tournament staff paraphernalia and more for their time supporting the athletes and teams at the tournament.

  • Positions Available: 16
  • Selection Criteria:
    • Male or female (17 - 30 years of age)
    • Living with type 1 diabetes or familiar with T1D (studying, friend, family-member)
    • Must be available from November 12 - 15, 2019
    • Must be available between hours of 7AM - 6PM (whatever time you can offer is welcome)
    • Must be able to travel to/from event location
    • Must possess a love for hockey and/or a desire to help support the T1D Hockey community

Dskate World Diabetes Day Hockey Classic Volunteer

From helping players and families get settled and organized upon arrival to directing traffic, working at the merchandise and photo booths and more, Dskate is in need of as many volunteers as possible to help make the Dskate World Diabetes Day Hockey Classic as amazing an event as possible. All volunteers will be provided meals, tournament staff paraphernalia and more for their time supporting the athletes and teams at the tournament. All volunteers are welcome, any time and support you may be able to offer is greatly appreciated.

  • Positions Available: 20
  • Selection Criteria:
    • Must be available from November 12 - 15, 2019
    • Must be available between hours of 7AM - 6PM (whatever time you can offer is welcome)
    • Must be able to travel to/from event location
    • Must possess a love for hockey and a desire to help support the T1D Hockey community
