Player details

No stranger to the world of hockey, or the spotlight, Max Domi grew up the son of a 1,000+ game NHL veteran and notorious Maple Leafs enforcer, Tie Domi. Though Max certainly gained his fair share of hockey knowledge at a young age, it was his determined fight away from the game that has not only inspired his family but his teammates and millions of people worldwide.

Diagnosed at the tender age of 12 and on the cusp of a new chapter in his life, Max was challenged with taking on Type 1 diabetes and embarking on the fight of a lifetime. A challenge no one should ever take lightly, Type 1 diabetes changed the way the Domi's took on life, but it never changed the desire to be great and to accomplish remarkable things.

Guided by his mother and father only to become an inspiration himself, Max's story is only in its infancy as he takes his passion and determination to new heights in the NHL. Though his accomplishments speak loudly of his abilities and courage to excel, the story behind how Max and his family conquer diabetes on a daily basis is an inspiration to us all.
